When did it get to be June? I'm overwhelmed by the fact that summer is basically here, I'm going to be 43 next Saturday, and 2022 is still 2022-ing right along. This week I tried to keep things light since I was busy at work, I went into the actual office to work (which is weird and not something I plan to do frequently), and I only wanted to stitch light, pretty things.
Here's this week's recap (you can see Sunday-Tuesday in last week's monthly recap):
June 1: I added lines of stem stitches to the tete de boeufs from the previous week. They look like little lavender flowers. |
June 2: Sparkly pink back stitch |
June 3: I added straight stitches to the row of running stitch I did previously. I think this section looks like sprinkles. Fitting as June 3 was National Donut Day. |
June 4: I bought my first peonies of the season today. They're my favorite flower. I could have made an actual peony, but I decided to do this instead. I used a similar technique when I made stitched Keely on his birthday. It's a riff on the long and short stitch, but it's not actually long and short stitches. I use a combination of back and straight stitches and layer the different colors. I like the end result. |
The actual peonies - they should open in the next day or two. |
I plan to move the fabric again next Sunday. I want to work on this side through my birthday and then decide how to move it again. I didn't have a chance to work on my From the Back series this week, but I plan to next weekend. I also want to work on my next tattoo design. I wanted to get a new tattoo as a celebration of completing last year's 365 project, so I need to figure out what to get. More to come!
