Spider Web #3

I learned how to do the ribbed spider web stitch back in September. I love this stitch! Unlike some of the other woven stitches, it's easier to keep track of the order of things because it's not an alternating stitch. It's more like a back stitch; you go forward one, back two to create the wrap. It's also a woven stitch that can be done with an even number of spokes, which I like.

Today's piece is only my second time doing this stitch. Like my first attempt, I still need to pack the stitches better. I think it's a combination of my thread choice and the fabric tension. I used both Perle 5 and a regular 6 strand floss, but it's still a little loose. I think it's more the fabric's fault. Given the way each month unfolds, keeping appropriate fabric tension can be a challenge. I also need to make the spokes a little more even so I don't run out of space to wrap on one while the others still have plenty of space. I'll have to keep practicing. I couldn't resist using glow in the dark thread again!
