Liner Notes: April - Florence + the Machine/Everybody Scream/You've Got the Love/Sympathy Magic

It's probably a good time for us to take a break and scream:

Do you feel better? I do.

It's been one of those weeks. I had a really bad pain day/migraine on Wednesday and felt terrible. I'm not sure if the migraine was because of the pain or if these were just fun twin pains who decided to hang out on the same day. I wasn't able to take the day off so I facilitated a session and participated in a few meetings where I had to be "on" like nothing was wrong. It sucked. I feel better now, but it definitely takes me a day or so to recover when I have one of these days. Hopefully, I'll get a surgery date soon and that will help with the pain issues. Stupid uterine fibroids.

Anyway, this is also the week of the Florence + the Machine concert. Originally, I was going to meet my bestie, Kelly, in Philadelphia at the end of her work trip and we'd have a nice weekend in Philly and see Florence. Well, the universe had other plans. Now, we're going to see Florence in scenic Atlantic City.

When we found out the Philly show got canceled (fucking NHL playoffs), we decided to cancel our hotel and book one in Atlantic City so we'd be prepared if we could get tickets to the Atlantic City show. We were able to get tickets during the advance sale on Monday, so Atlantic City it is. I've never been to Atlantic City. I'm sure it'll be something.

This week I finally embroidered lyrics from the title track from the new album, Everybody Scream. I love this song and this album. After Lungs, it's my favorite. Given where I am in my life, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, this album just gets me. If Lungs was my 30s, Everybody Scream is my 40s and beyond. I cannot wait to see this concert. It's going to be amazing.

Here are this week's additions to the spell book. I'm posting a day early because I don't want to take my laptop to New Jersey nor do I want to try to edit and post from my phone.

April 19

April 20

April 22 - You've Got the Love - this song is actually a cover. The original was recorded by Candi Staton and released in 1986.

April 23 - the grey turned out better than I expected.

The spell book is getting full.

WIPs, Bea's Adventures and Other Small Joys

I'm on my way to Atlantic City later today. Bea is staying with her favorite people - my parents and brother. It makes me so happy how much she loves them and how much they love her. My mom was so excited to see Bea yesterday when I brought her to the house. She's already having adventures and getting into mischief. I only hope my dad will take some pictures of her shenanigans.

Just sitting next to the flowers my mom got for her birthday like it's no big deal.

Concerns around the emergence of the spring/summer comforter.

The mushroom needlepoint is coming along. I was able to work on it a bit last Sunday and I'm taking it with me to AC since it's supposed to rain most of the time we're there so inside time may be our only option. I'm almost done with the second blue section.

So helpful.

Also started a new book this week. Cults and crafting - sign me up!

Have a great weekend and enjoy whatever you do as much as Bea enjoys lounging in my luggage. The last April post will be up on April 30 and will include more about the concert and my trip to Atlantic City.
