This week's fortune is an interesting one. I decided it's an ominous fortune...if you don't follow it, bad things could happen to you. Like so many of the fortunes I've stitched this year, it feels like it belongs right at this moment. The Cup of Fortunes knows things.
It's okay to change your mind. Becoming more informed and letting that new knowledge change your perspective is growth. A lot of people out in the world today could benefit from some thinking and changing their minds before it's too late.
Here's this week's fortune and lucky numbers:

Weeks 1-21 |
WIPs and Other Small Joys
I made some progress on the vintage travel case makeover last Sunday. I cut out the fabric and made the pincushion for the lid. I also finished the second needle minder. This one has magnets in it. Cutting out the fabric was a little scary; I only have what I have for both patterns so I was as careful as I could be in measuring and cutting. I hope I got it right. My next steps are to glue the fabric to the remaining panels and start attaching them to the case. I'm still trying to decide if I want to add a pocket to one of the bottom panels. I need to make the decision before gluing, so that's my goal this weekend. I'm also going to attempt to make a spot for my scissors and seam ripper. It's a whole process.
I haven't started stitching yet, but I did decide on a quote for the first flower press piece. I went with the Emerson quote. Trying to decide between the yellow or the purple thread - thoughts?
It was also a week of fun little things at work. We had a coffee cart and sweet treats on Tuesday. If you haven't tried Loud N' Roasted Coffee or Toimoi Bakery, go do it this weekend.
One of the charities we support is Save the Children. We hosted a paint night to raise money for the organization. This is the second one we've done; this time we got to make cute home decor. I went with a bee pattern and wild colors. I may redo the text. I had to do that freehand and I'm not sure I love how it turned out. It's cute though. It was fun and my co-workers are super talented people.
On a sadder note, we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl Frida this week. She hasn't been doing well the last month or so, and my parents had to make the hard decision to let her go. She and my dad are BFFs, so this has been hard for him. If you have a pet, hug them and tell them they're amazing. I told Keely to take care of Frida when he saw her. They may have ignored each other most of the time, but I think they were secretly friends.
