I can't believe I forgot a very important type of fortune in my earlier list: the predictive fortune. Predictive fortunes are the real deal fortune cookie message. It's the type of fortune most people think they're going to get when they open their fortune cookie, but more often than not, they end up with one of the other types I talked about previously. I guess you could just call these fortunes, but I like categorizing them further.
I've made quite a few new friends since I moved into my house and started saving these fortunes, so maybe this is about one of them. Maybe that new friend hasn't entered my life yet. Who knows?
More interesting this week is the appearance of the number 22 in the lucky numbers. It's appeared in five out of seven sets of lucky numbers so far. I've started keeping track of the number of times it appears. I see swans and snakes every time I embroider a 22. I guess that sort of fitting since 2025 is the year of the snake.
Here is this week's fortune:

Weeks 1-4 |
Why is the piece off the hoop? Well, it's the end of week four and every four weeks, I plan to move the fabric. I shifted it to the left for the next four weeks. I'm a little concerned I'm going to run out of room along the edge for the lucky numbers, but I'll figure out that issue when it happens. Perhaps I'll do two layers of numbers or start adding them within the center part of the piece.
Here's the moved fabric, re-hooped:
Woodlawn, Disco Dinos, and a Little Keely
My Woodlawn show entries are done and my application has been submitted! I'm so excited to submit work to the show for the first time. I have to drop my entries off at Woodlawn on Friday and then we wait until March to see how things go. I think they're adorable.
I have acquired a few more ridiculous items for my house. I need to stop. Probably. Maybe. I should stop.

It's an egg cup from Ikea, but I think it looks cuter hanging out with the second to be read pile in my living room.

Elton John the Plant needed a sparkly friend. Yes, that's it exactly. |
I also unearthed these adorable photos of me and Keely. I miss him terribly but finding little gems like this in photo memories makes me smile.
