We've come to the point in the song where two members of the Tribe, Sheila and Dionne, take over the song. If you still haven't listened to "The Flesh Failures/Let the Sunshine In," go ahead and click right here. This part starts at 1:44. Sheila starts us off, repeating the first verse of the song. Sheila is one of the other more developed characters in the show. She's in love with Berger, he's not interested in her in that way, Claude is probably in love with Sheila, and Berger is probably in love with Claude. Anyway, in the first act, Sheila goes to a protest in DC and when she returns to the Tribe, she gives Berger a gift...a yellow shirt. He destroys it and he destroys her heart. This leads to the song "Easy to Be Hard," which is another beautiful song from the show.
In stage productions, Sheila and Dionne take center stage as Claude exits (dies) and they lead the Tribe to the emotional end of the song (we'll get to that next week). As I shared previously, the film version of this song is a little different since the plot changed in the adaptation, but Sheila is still taking lead in this part (starts around 2:48).
Next week, I'll finish up the song with the verse and the Tribe's final message to us as the show ends.

WIP: The Mushrooms and Revenge
I didn't finish the second piece in my mushroom series last weekend like I planned, but did manage to finish it up yesterday. It came out beautifully. I tried using fabric medium in the paint and that helped with controlling the paint bleed a bit more than painting after I stitched.
I also started working on the kit I got when I went to see Thelma last month. It's a nice, easy piece to work on after work.

Keely is planning his revenge for the dog visitor last week. |

Frida went home on Tuesday. I think this photo is the best summary of her visit: Keely is annoyed and Frida is just happy to be here. |
