I'm in my toadstool decor era.
One toadstool canister is whimsical and cute. Three is a motif, so here we are. I bought the first one in December (small one in the front). It was my whimsical moment - I didn't use it for anything and forgot it opened. I bought the second one (red top) right before I got my sourdough starter. I use it to store wheat flour to feed the girls (Doris and Edith - my sourdough starters). I bought the third one (orange top) on a whim at World Market in April. I keep AP flour in it. I realized the smaller one opens about two weeks ago, and now it holds fine sea salt. And they all live on my kitchen counter. I'm officially in my toadstool decor era. Not pictured: a very large, heavy mug and a set of toadstool patterned sheets. I also have toadstool stickers.
Anyway, I decided to add more toadstools to my life this week by stitching some adorable little ones for the stitch journal. I wanted an excuse to use my new watercolor set and use some of the textured flooring samples I got last year at the upcycle craft store. I don't know what the sample is, but it looks like mossy grass so it works perfectly with my toadstools.
Here's this week's piece:

June 4 - I was also inspired by an old Tyson's chicken strips commercial where a little kid said "mushrooms look like aliens." They do look a lot like aliens. |

Completely Unrelated, Unnecessary Keely News
Y'all, my cat son finally sat on the couch by himself! I've been Keely's human for almost 6 years (in two weeks) and he rarely sits on the couch by himself. He'll sit on my lap if I'm on the couch and occasionally, he'll walk along the back of the couch and sit on one of the arms, but he never just naps on the couch or sits like a weirdo cat person.
When Kelly was visiting last week, he decided to sit on the couch. I don't know why or what inspired him to do so, but now he's on the couch all the time. I didn't expect to be so emotional about my little weirdo doing something like this, but I'm incredibly emotional about it. Look at him looking all comfortable and at home. Just look at him!

The first time he did it - look at him! |
The week of June 17 (Week 25) will celebrate Keely's 6th adoption day. It's going to be fun.
