It seems fitting that this week I created fake flowers since we're experiencing fake spring here in Northern Virginia. I went to a baseball game last night and it was so cold and unpleasant. This wasn't helped by the fact that the Nationals lost, but it's a rebuilding year. Or something. It's supposed to warm up later in the week just in time for me to fly to London.
One of my favorite months in my original 365 project was the month I used unusual materials in each of the 3x3 squares I created. I have lots of buttons and beads left over from that month. It was nice to bring them back out for this week's piece. Look at the happy little flowers and toadstools!

New WIPs and a Programming Note
I decided to start working on one of the PopLush patterns I have stashed away for rainy days (probably). This is one of the cutest patterns she created and I'm enjoying bringing the axolotl to life.
I'm also finally going to start the Gilmoreisms cross stitch pattern my friend Heather got me for Christmas. I don't normally cross stitch, so this is going to be a big and fun project. I have to draw out some guidelines on the fabric to make it easier to count. That's one of my projects for this weekend after I clean the house and go couch shopping. It's from
Forbidden Fiber Co if you're interested in giving it a try. It was done as a Stitch Along but I was working on the St. Patrick's Day ornaments when it started, so I'm working on it on my own time.
Programming Note: I'm headed to London next Saturday for a work trip. I'll be there through the following Saturday so Week 16's piece will be stitched entirely in the UK (and maybe the Frankfurt airport). I'm planning on posting the Week 15 wrap up on schedule, but it won't include a photo of Weeks 1-15 since I'm not bringing them all with me. My posting on Instagram will be a little different since I'll be in a different time zone.
I'm planning on visiting Riverside Studios while I'm there. There's an exhibition of
Holly Searle's work at the studio and it's close to where I'll be. I'm trying to figure what else to do while I'm in town. I'm looking forward to the trip.
