The Stitch Book: Week 10 (March 3-9)

We made it to week 10! During my 2022 project, a stitch would occasionally pop into my head, usually when I was trying to fall asleep, and it would end up as the stitch for the next day's journal entry. That's pretty much what happened this week. I hadn't figured out what I was going to stitch for this week when I was trying to fall asleep last Saturday, and the herringbone stitch popped into my head. I like this stitch a lot but almost never use it. It's one of the few stitches where I need to draw guidelines to do. I don't know why, but I do.

Anyway, I opted to do another abstract piece. I used Sublime Stitching's version of variegated thread. Maybe it's an image of the coming spring. I'll let you decide.

The most exciting thing that happened this week was the arrival of my latest Nuggets from Wild Rainbow Co. Deb makes the most adorable ceramic creations and I have a very large collection of Nuggets. She teased Nuggets with their stuffies several months ago and I preordered two. Look at them! LOOK AT THEM! I requested a unicorn and a dinosaur stuffie and both are perfect.

Deb can just have all of my money. The next Wild Rainbow Co drop is this week, so do yourself a favor and buy a Nugget. Your brain needs the serotonin boast.

Here's this week's piece:

St. Patrick's Day Ornaments and My Next Project

My mom's party is on Monday. I'm going to be spending most of tomorrow baking scones and madeleines for the party, so I wanted to get all the ornaments done earlier in the week. This last set turned out nicely. I think her friends are going to love them.

Now that I've finished this project, I can turn my attention to the Gilmoreisms stitch along kit my friend Heather sent me for Christmas. It's counted cross stitch pattern from Forbidden Fiber Company. I know how to do counted cross stitch, but I rarely do it, so this is going to be a fun challenge. The first step is stitching all the frames...it's going to take me forever to do. Leann Ross, the pattern designer, picked some great quotes and designs for the pattern. It's going to be so wonderful when I finish.
