I hope everyone had a nice holiday this week (if you celebrate). Keely had a very exciting week since it was his 7th birthday on Wednesday (he got chicken and a new bed) and then we went to spend Thanksgiving with my family on Thursday. He got a little turkey and hung out with his favorite person, my brother. I put our tree up (not decorated yet) so he's also been lurking under the tree. I've spent the last two days reminding him not to eat the plastic branches. Being a cat mom is super fun.

Look at that razzle dazzle leg!?! He's basically sleeping on a marshmallow. |
This week's set of words just so happens to include the mother and father of nonsense corporate phrases. I guess this is a perfect example of "synergy" since it was completely unplanned.
Here's this week's recap:
November 19: As I said in my Instagram post, at some point in the future, I'd like to be so far out of the loop that I don't even know the loop exists. |
November 20: I'm not sure what possessed me to use French knots for this one, but it turned out better than I thought it would. When someone tells you they have a "hard stop," it signals you need to manage your meeting well or they're one of those people who thrives on "busyness" and didn't plan their day well. |
November 21: If only this referred to actual sewing. It's about making noticeable or measurable change. We should probably just say that instead.
November 22: We've just entered circle back season. I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say "let's circle back after the holidays" in the last two weeks and they meant Christmas even though it's still November. |
November 23: "Table this" is "circle back's" cousin. It was appropriate that this happened to be the word for Thanksgiving. |
November 24: The mother of nonsense corporate phrases. I love hearing people say they want their team to do this, but then not actually want the original ideas people create because they went "too outside the box." Y'all, I wish this wasn't a real thing. |
November 25: The father of nonsense corporate sayings. I used to talk about opening a bakery with one of my friends (who I met through work) and we were going to name everything after stupid stuff people say at work. "Not Enough Bandwidth Brownies" is my favorite item we came up with for the menu. |
There are five more days left in November, so there's going to be a bonus week this month. |
WIP: Abstract Something
I started working on a new abstract piece. I still have some thread scraps from the 2021 365 project, so I'm using the remaining thread for this piece.
