June: Rainbows - You Are Safe Here

Y'all, June is over! Where did this month go? I've enjoyed my rainbow theme and am sad to see it come to an end. It's been a busy and wild month in many ways, and this theme has helped center my brain each day.

The last organization I want to highlight this month is Equality Texas. I learned about Equality Texas's work last year when Texas and other states started passing legislation to stop gender affirming care and penalize parents for supporting their trans children (among other things). States like Texas and Florida (and others) are going out of their way to create incredibly dangerous situations for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly the most vulnerable members of that community. Helping organizations like Equality Texas helps give voice to the fight for equality and support to those who need it.

I hope that anyone who stops by this blog or my Instagram knows that you are safe here. I'm your family (whatever that means to you) or a friend or a random person in the world who cares about you. I'll be here fighting to protect you and your safety always.

As I said at the start of this month, if this month's theme bothered you...that's a you problem, not a me problem. If you can't find time to educate yourself and stop being hateful, you can get the fuck off my blog. I will never have the time nor the patience for hate or ignorance.

Here's this week's recap:

There was an actual rainbow outside this week too! We had to have something beautiful before the air quality went to hell.

Iconic Series

I finished Iconic #16 this week. I was thinking of adding pinstripes, but decided the dark blue was better on its own.

I also created a draft design for Iconic #17. It's supposed to look like a cookbook, so I need to work on that a bit.

Coming in July - Another abstract stitch journal!

Another abstract piece is coming in July. I'm not exactly sure what this is going to be end up being, but I'll figure it out at some point. I selected a color palette and am considering using some stitches I don't often use. Maybe some coral stitch or feather stitch. I don't know. The fabric and thread will speak to me eventually. Or something.
