Aren't ladybugs the cutest!?! Keely loves ladybugs. They're the one type of bug that he won't try to attack. I don't know why he likes them, but he does. If a ladybug makes it into the house, he watches it. And lets me know it's there, but mostly he watches it. It's sweet.
I used the stabilizer again. It didn't wash out as well as it did with the spider web, so the thread was very stiff when I went back to fill in the satin stitch for Lydia's head and body. The stiffness helped keep the outline shape better so it worked out well. I decided to use sequins for Lydia's spots. What lady doesn't love some sparkle?
I decided to try different threads for the leaves for Lydia the Ladybug's visit to the garden. The floche thread is very thin and delicate, so I contrasted that with a thicker Perle (#5) and a regular divisible thread (3 strands). The difference is so dramatic from a texture and fill perspective. I'll probably do this in the last section as well.

There's only one week left in April! Next week, I'll focus on Bobby the Butterfly. Alliteration is one of my favorite things.

I haven't been working on any other projects this week, but I hope to start a few this week. There are two sitting on the table, staring at me. Yes, that's exactly how I get inspired to work on something. I leave you with Keely patrolling the studio.
