I own a large number of whimsically patterned clothing items. These items vary from sweaters and cardigans to leggings to dresses to socks. There's something fun about a dinosaur shirt that's appropriate for work (I have three) or an elephant cardigan (I should have bought two of them that's how much I love this cardigan). I don't wear a lot of white, but I had to buy this t-shirt when I saw it at Loft four years ago. I'm rarely going to say no to anything with cats on it. I used to wear this tee with a red cardigan and it was one of my favorite combos. Whimsy goes with everything.
I've been looking forward to working on this month's stitch journal since I decided on this approach for this year's journal(s). Cats in hats are funny. Cats with plants and other random things are also funny. I wanted some whimsy back in my life and this shirt is definitely whimsical. I have some fun things planned for this month. And of course, Keely is a big inspiration. I'd love to tell you he might show up on the shirt, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. He was completely uninterested in being my muse today. Cats, man.
I hope you enjoy Cats in Hats and Other Things as it unfolds this month.
Here's this week's recap:

February 1: How cute is this hat?! I had to include two photos because it's adorable. |

February 2: Jaunty scarf day |

February 3: inspired by Keely's deep love of his bed. I was going to fill it in, but the t-shirt fabric didn't agree with that approach. |

February 4: I thought the cat might enjoy a cactus. As cats do. |
I have to go to the office three days next week, so I'm going to do some less time intensive motifs Monday-Wednesday. They'll also be posted later in the day if you follow me on Instagram.
