Happy Thanksgiving (late) to those who celebrate and happy Thursday (late) to those who enjoy Thursdays. This week was also Keely's birthday. Not only did he get chicken on his actual birthday; he got turkey on Thanksgiving because he was a very good boy this week.

Cats don't beg. They wait patiently until you make the right decision about giving them treats. |
Anyway, I'm enjoying the long weekend and looking forward to my favorite part of Thanksgiving leftovers: stuffing waffles.
This is from 2017 - the first year I made stuffing waffles. |
If you like stuffing, have some leftover stuffing, and also enjoy waffles, I highly recommend making stuffing waffles. I'm trying to decide if I should use my dinosaur waffle maker or my small single waffle maker. The dinos would be funnier, but the small waffle maker will be an actual waffle. I recommend topping the waffle with a layer of cranberry sauce and some turkey. If you like gravy, add it on top. I like gravy and have inexplicably become the person in my family who makes gravy on Thanksgiving, but I didn't bring any home with me from my parents' house. Oh well. The stuffing waffles will still taste good.
Here's this week's recap:
November 20: November 20 is Trans Day of Remembrance. It was also the morning after the mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado. This isn't a Scream, but Scream adjacent. |
November 21: The first of several long threads I found this week. Perfect for this long line of chain stitches. |
November 22: More long thread for this line of stem stitches. |
November 23: Moved the fabric to a portable thread so I could take the journal with me for Thanksgiving. |
November 24: Some random shades of purple and pink for Thanksgiving day. |
November 25: Another long piece of thread (Etoile - shiny) for this oddly shaped line of stem stitches. |
November 26: Gray back stitches to finish the week. I think I'm going to move the fabric again tomorrow. |
WIPs and the 2023 Stitch Journal: I hope to get some work done on another Polaroid embroidery this week and do some planning for next year's stitch journal. I have the concept and have selected some things for the journal, but now I need to make decisions on how to use those things. Yes, I'm being intentionally vague. I will share more about next year's journal, but not yet. For now, we'll just use stuff and things as the descriptor. It works so very well.
