Week Forty-Five: Time Change/Election

It's been a long week. Between last weekend's time change and the election on Tuesday, I feel like this week went on for a year. I served as an election officer for my fifth election since 2020. It was a busy, but relatively low-key day. It was nice to be at my voting precinct and see my neighbors and people I've helped during previous elections. Bonus achievement: my upstairs neighbor came to vote and now I know her first name. I've lived here for three years and we talk at least once a week, but I was never introduced to her by name. And then it got too weird to ask. Now I know her name.

I'm glad I don't commute to work anymore. The whole leave in the dark and return home in the dark thing is not my favorite. Keely has almost adjusted to the change in his meal schedule. I hope this week is the last week he tries to wake me up at 4 am for breakfast.

Before we get to this week's recap, I want to remind everyone that today is the last day to sign up for a holiday ornament. Fill out this Google form and I'll send you an ornament in late November. I plan to send the ornaments out next weekend.

A sample of what the ornaments will look like.

Also because I'm ridiculous, you can now purchase stickers (and pillows and tote bags) featuring Keely. Check out our Redbubble store here. All the proceeds from the sticker sales (or whatever) will be donated to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria on Keely's birthday later this month. Keely also makes a donation to the shelter on his birthday, so the sales will be on top of what he does already.

This week's recap:

November 6: Is Shapes Sunday a thing? Maybe I should make it a thing.

November 7: Just a reminder to vote. It matters!

November 8: I ended up stitching this before I left for the election, but didn't post until I got home. I'm glad I did it in the morning.

November 9: Blue French knots for a Wednesday.

November 10: Adding the line of teal back stitches definitely created yet another unintentional figure/creature. Might be a cat. Might be a demon. I'll let you decide.

November 11: This entry was in honor of Veteran's Day and inspired by poppies. I go to hang out with my favorite veteran, my dad, yesterday.

November 12: Look at the line of stem stitches! I found a piece of variegated thread (6 strands) that was pretty long so I was able to divide it into two 3 strand pieces for a long line of stitches.

Guess what tomorrow is? If you guessed "it's time to move the fabric" you guessed correctly - gold star! It's time to move on from this spot. Let's see what the next section of fabric brings us.
