Month Nine/Week Thirty-Nine: The big hoop retires

We've reached the end of month nine! Three more months left in the year and three more months of this year's 365 project. As I've been working on this section I realized there wasn't much more room to go if I kept using the big hoop. The big hoop has been great, but is also getting a little unwieldy. I decided for the remaining three months, I'll use a smaller hoop and work on smaller sections of the piece.

The stitch journal as of 9:45 this morning.

I decided to continue working on the section I've been working on recently. I'll move around after a week or two through the end of the year. This will give me an opportunity to round out various sections of the journal and add to sections again if I so choose. I should have enough fabric and enough thread to get through the end of the year.

Returned to the standing hoop I used last year.

Here's this week's recap:

September 25: more curvy stem stitches

September 26: My friend Kelly was in town this week and we went to see the Kusama rooms at the Hirshhorn. Added some more French knots in Kusama's honor.

September 27: Found some more thread I think is Amazonite, but it's hard to tell. The thread was perfect for a long line of back stitches.

September 28: Pink stem stitches

September 29: I found this longish piece of light brown thread and added it to the edge of the section. It's one continuous thread and it's all contained within this section. I think it's the only or one of the few times I didn't extend the line outside of the immediate fabric section.

September 30: The section under the spot I worked on Thursday was very empty and this is how I filled it. The stem stitches look good and it's an interesting shape.

October 1: Yes, it looks like a pink bunny. Completely unintentional.

No WIPs this week. I probably won't start a non-journal project until later this month. However, Kevin the Spider did get framed this week. He looks good.
