If you live in the DC area, I highly recommend going to see Laurie Anderson and Yayoi Kusama's exhibitions at the Hirshhorn. The Kusama exhibit is open through November, but Laurie Anderson's exhibit closes August 7. It's so good. Today's stitch journal entry is inspired by one of her works.
The recap:
July 17: Some circles. This is also the day I discovered I should never do my own plumbing projects. |
July 18: French knot clusters. |
July 19: Rage line 2 - this one split off from the original rage line. I can't remember exactly why I needed to make another rage line. I think I was reading articles about Evangelical women who had abortions, but would call their doctors murderers and my brain stopped working from all the mental gymnastics these women must have to do just to live their lives. |
July 20: Stem stitch - I'm really trying to get stem stitch and curves right. It's a work in progress. |
July 21: Happy little line of back stitches - sometimes you need a happy little line of back stitches. |
July 22: Yesterday was National Mango Day and mangoes are my favorite fruit. This was the closest color I could find to mango. I used it for some lovely chain stitches. |
July 23: I went to see the Laurie Anderson and Yayoi Kusama exhibits at the Hirshhorn today. Today's entry is inspired by one of Laurie Anderson's works. I had some glow in the dark thread left in the jar and used it for today. |
WIP: I did finish Abstract #2 this week. I haven't ironed it and finished the edges, but you can see the last section below. I should have the finished piece done tomorrow.
