Week Fourteen: I don't feel that I need to explain my art to you, Warren.

This week's stitch journal is all about layers, baseball, and my first Wordle in two guesses. I told you I'd stitch a two guess Wordle if it ever happened. It happened yesterday, so I'm guessing it was the spirit of Rex Manning Day that helped me get it right.

One of my favorite quotes from Empire Records is from AJ: "I don't feel that I need to explain my art to you, Warren." I feel this in bones whenever I talk about my art.

April 3: Definitely Bridgerton influenced (back stitch, French knots)

April 4: a little split back stitch and regular split stitch. It's hard to tell the difference.

April 5: This blanket stitch section is taking on a life of its own. I added more stitches on the edge to the hoop line and downward and then I started adding blanket stitches within existing stitches in the bottom section. I have no idea where this section is going, but I like it.

April 6: Expanding the Sky Neighborhood in more ways. (Long back stitches)

April 7: Opening Day (whipped back stitch, stem stitch)

April 8: Wordle in two! (French knots)

April 9: Expanding Sky Neighborhood even further with more back stitches. I keep coming back to this section and I overlapped it with the blanket stitch section, so who knows what will happen next?

I'm going to have to move the hoop soon. I don't know that I want to, but I'm definitely running out of space to expand outward.

The back looks pretty cool too.

Sky Neighborhood from the back

Blanket stitch from the back - this section needs a better name

Made a Rex Manning Day piece yesterday too. Last year, I did pieces based quotes from Corey, Lucas, and Mark. This year I went with AJ.
