Clark: Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?
Eddie: Naw, I'm doing just fine, Clark.
A couple of years ago, I realized there was an entire generation of people who only know the Griswolds from Christmas Vacation. The gag about the kids being different in every movie means nothing to them. It's weird, and also makes me feel very old.
Both of my parents love Christmas Vacation. My guess is they see some of their own lives in the story of the Griswold family Christmas. There's something very relatable about being around extended family, trying to shop, make holiday meals, and dealing with the randomness that is Christmas. The movie is incredibly quotable (thanks John Hughes) and is probably the best of the Vacation movies (although European Vacation will always be my favorite). Cousin Eddie is a peak Cousin Eddie in this movie and today's piece is dedicated to him, Wally World themed glasses, and a time when people just left out eggnog out for people to drink.
