And you get a letter! And you get a letter! And you get a letter!

Today is National Letter Writing Day! I have always loved sending letters to people. It's easy to default to online communications and texting, but nothing beats going to the mailbox and getting a letter or card or postcard. I wrote a novel in 2014 called Transient Suburbia that was about two childhood pen pals (you can read excerpts on my other blog - it's never been published), and writing about letter writing and the relationships it can form was one of my favorite creative things I've ever done (even if very few people have read it). It's also fitting Letter Writing Day falls in December, right in the middle of when many of us send holiday cards. This is the second year I've sent out a Keely-themed holiday postcard. Who doesn't love a holiday card featuring a really ridiculous cat who loves to pose?

Today's piece features a quote from Lord Byron. I love this quote, and I hope it inspires you to sit down and write someone a letter today.

Here's Keely's 2021 holiday card. Some of you may be receiving one in the mail this week!
