Crazy that Thanksgiving is this Thursday. It's my second favorite holiday after Halloween, and it's mostly because of the food. I love stuffing and cranberries and turkey and pie. My mom's stuffing is one of my favorite foods in the world and I can't wait to make stuffing waffles with the leftovers.
For this week, I thought I'd feature some things I enjoy or are part of my family's traditions. Today's piece is inspired by Thanksgiving flowers. My mom and I always put together flowers for the table. I haven't been told to pick up flowers, but I'm sure it's coming. This piece also gave me an opportunity to try two stitches, tete de boeuf and woven wheel, in small scale. I was more successful with the woven wheel, but I think a tete de boeuf stitch would make a beautiful sunflower in a larger scale.
