Today's tree was brought to you by Northern Virginia traffic. A few weeks back, my brother was driving us to our last Nationals game of the season. We were discussing how to incorporate a promise I made him to do a piece in honor of the new NHL team, the Seattle Kraken. I decided to include the kraken in my spooky theme week in a day I'm calling "Creature Feature," which is based on my love of old horror movies from the 1930s and 1940s. Anyway, I was telling my brother about tree week, when traffic stopped a bit and we ended up sitting in front of the most magnificent tree.
Isn't it glorious? And it's just sitting on the side of the road near a car dealership, so I'm sure no one ever stops and truly appreciates this tree. I took a picture of it, and decided to add this tree to my pieces for the week. I don't know that I've perfectly captured this magnificent tree, but I did my best to create my version of it.
In progress - there are two shades of green for the tree. |
