Patterns

I'm on vacation starting today. I'm not going anywhere, but it'll be nice to take a break from work and do things like go to a concert (the first live one in 2 years) and help my mom organize her closet. One of the reasons I decided to focus on unusual materials this month is because I'll have some real dedicated time next week to working on some of the pieces that may prove to be more involved than I think.

I've been feeling introvert-y lately, so today is a quieter piece. I was thinking about my next piece from the back, and the idea of using French knots came to mind. This month's fabric is a little thinner than what I've been using, so you can really see the lines of the thread. This pieces looks so different if I cover the back. It's a cool effect, and it confirms what I was thinking about making something very abstract with French knots from the back. Today's pieces was random, and the pattern is pleasing. I want to try both a random and a mapped out version to see which one I like best (the answer will be both).

So as I settle into vacation mode, I'm going to spend this evening and tomorrow introverting.
