Roller Skates

I miss roller skating. That's probably a very weird thing to say, but I do. A few years ago, a work friend rented out a roller rink for her birthday and it was so much fun. I met a friend for lunch two weeks ago, and set up in the middle of the shopping center where we met was a temporary roller rink. Me being me, I immediately looked up skate brands on my phone, and have decided I'm buying myself a set of roller skates (the Emerald City from Moonlight Roller). I never had my own skates as a kid; I always had to rent them at the rink. I'm going to be the woman roller skating around the neighborhood.

Today's piece is based loosely on the skates I'm purchasing this weekend. The pattern is from Sublime Stitching; I don't know if it was from one of Jenny Hart's books or a pattern set. It was in a binder I have for loose patterns, but I didn't write down the actual source. Her patterns are great, so check them out even if you can't get the skates anymore.

Wish me luck in this new frivolous hobby!
