Fireworks on the Detroit River

My parents were both born and raised in Detroit. Not the suburbs like me, but Detroit. I love Detroit, but have no sense of "home" there like the rest of my family does. I do, however, have a lot of wonderful memories of Detroit, particularly around July 4. We used to spend a lot of July in Detroit, and we always watched the fireworks on the Detroit River. Fun fact: the city of Detroit and the city of Windsor (in Canada) used to switch off who hosted the fireworks each year. I don't know if they still do, but that was always a big joke around the 4th. Some years, we'd watch from the Detroit side. Some years, we'd watch from Windsor. This is back when crossing into Canada was super easy and allowed. Regardless of where we watched, the fireworks were always beautiful and it was a fun night with my family.

This is my attempt at capturing the Detroit River, the Ambassador Bridge, and the fireworks on the 4th. If you're celebrating today, please be safe and don't do stupid things. If you're not celebrating, enjoy this Sunday doing whatever you're doing. I get it; it's a weird holiday and you don't have celebrate if you don't want to.
