Apparently, it's Pollinator Week. I didn't know this was a thing. Because I follow some nature groups on Instagram and Twitter and follow #bees across my social media platforms, I've been informed about Pollinator Week multiple times about the festivities. I wasn't planning on doing another insect-themed post this week, but fate or whatever intervened, and today's piece was created. I was flipping through the book Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection looking for some reference images for something I'm working on for Friday, when I happened upon a doodle of a moth and a beetle. Both are pollinators. I figured moths would be on the pollinator list, but I didn't know beetles are too. I learn so much doing this project.
If you want to celebrate Pollinator Week, you can do things like plant pollinator-friendly plants, join online discussions about different pollinators, or support any number of environmentally focused groups who support preserving pollinators.
