Apparently, Mondays are Marvel quote days this month, or at least for the last two weeks. I can't help it if I play streaming catch up on Sundays, and I've been catching up on Marvel shows.
I started watching Loki last weekend before I binge watched WandaVision. I'm surprised I remembered to watch the second episode yesterday. I have to get used to watching one episode at a time like it's 1998. I don't know if I like the series yet; Loki is one of my favorite characters from the MCU. I stopped reading comics a long time ago, so I really only have the movies to go by, and I'm 100% fine with this. I'm partial to the Thor movies, and am probably the only person who like Thor: Dark World. It has one of my favorite visual/musical sequences in the entire MCU to this point. (If you've seen the movie and want to know the scene I'm talking about, or don't care about spoilers, you can watch this sequence here.)
Anyway, today's piece is from episode 2 of Loki. Mobius and Loki are discussing their worlds and the concept of free will. Here's the full quote:
Mobius: Existence is chaos, nothing makes any sense so we try to make sense of it. And I'm just lucky that the chaos I emerged into gave me all this, my own 'glorious purpose.' Because the TVA is my life, and it's real because I believe it's real.
Admittedly, I'm having a hard time not seeing Owen Wilson as Hansel, the male model he played in Zoolander, but I really loved this quote and the larger conversation in this episode. We all do our own things to make sense of an otherwise chaotic universe. For some people, it's existing in a world that's sole purpose is to protect a sacred timeline. For other people, it's doing laundry and putting it away (shocker: that's me).
How fun is this piece from the back?! Existence is chaos... |
