My dad is the reason I found out about National Donut Day. Back in the day, you know the early 2000s, before we were all on the internet all the time, my dad used to send me articles from the newspaper via the mail. He'd find something funny or interesting and send it to me, usually with no explanation. He sent me a clipping from Parade Magazine (I think) about Donut Day and ever since, we've been reminding one another to go get a donut on June 4. I sent my family a reminder text yesterday, so hopefully they planned accordingly.
I hope you went out and got yourself a free donut today. I went to Krispy Kreme. It was exactly what I needed before going to Target. I love a strawberry frosted donut.
