I don't wear a lot of makeup. Since I started working from home full time, my minimal makeup routine has gone to a no makeup routine. I'll put makeup on if I know I'm going to be on video for long periods of time, but that's about it. I guess now that we're all starting to re-enter society, I'll have to start thinking about maybe wearing makeup again. Maybe.
I do, however, love nail polish. I was a nail biter as a child until I discovered nail polish. I used to do my nails all the time, especially in college. Manicures were an extravagance, so doing my own nails was also smart budgeting. Last year, I treated myself to the Olive & June manicure set and I don't think I'll ever go back to getting manicures at a salon. I love the colors in their collections, particularly the grays. I'm a sucker for gray nail polish. The other accessories and treatments are fantastic. I'm probably (definitely) getting myself the pedicure set as a birthday present to myself.
Anyway, painting my nails has become my new thing to do when I need a little quiet time or a boost. There is something so satisfying about looking at a manicure I did myself while I type or stitch or live my life. It's become a new ritual for me about twice a month. Today's piece is my humble attempt at a nail polish bottle and an ode to that time I spilled nail polish on the coffee table when I was a kid.
