I went to the Old Town Farmers' Market today. I haven't been there since fall of 2019. The market is the oldest farmers' market in the country held continuously at the same site, and is one of my favorite markets in the area. I've been going there regularly since 2007. Last year, the market was open for pick up orders, but I was never able to get a pick up order. The farms I like always seemed to sell out right away. I've been waiting to go this season until I was fully vaccinated, so today was my present to myself for hitting that milestone. I bought flowers from the flower guy I like. I picked up vegetables from the three farms I buy from, and I picked up a cranberry orange bread from one of the bakeries. I also got a Burmese coffee from one of my favorite vendors at the market. It wasn't super crowded, probably because of the rain, and it was nice to do a normal thing.
Today's piece features vegetable designs from the book Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection. I tried sketching vegetables when I got home, but they all looked like weird lumps of sadness, so I went with a pattern.
