According to my Facebook memories, today is the one year anniversary of the day I finally learned, after 14 years of embroidering, how to successfully stitch a French knot. I tried over the years to learn the French knot, and failed miserably every time. I was finally able to get the stitch using the instructions in Renee Rominger's book Edgy Embroidery. I highly recommend the book. Part of why I think I was finally able to get it is Rominger's friendly "you can do it" tone throughout the book. I quickly feel in love with the French knot, and now I look for every opportunity to incorporate French knots into my work. For the rest of the week, I will attempt to use the French knot in all of my pieces. I'm not sure how it'll work completely, but we'll see what happens.
Today's piece reminders me of a dandelion - enjoy!
