I don't know if anyone remembers tangrams, but for whatever reason tangrams popped into my mind over the weekend. My mom bought me tangrams when I was in the third grade (maybe?) and I remember it being one of my favorite things to do. Tangrams are logic puzzles where you use seven different geometric pieces to form various images and shapes. My brother and I were discussing spatial reasoning at the Nats game last week, so I'm guessing my tangram memories are somehow tied to that conversation. Anyway, I was sketching this morning over breakfast and triangles popped into my head alongside the tangrams. And here we are with today's piece.
My transfer today wasn't perfect so I had to improvise a few smaller triangles to cover stray transfer lines. I need to invest in some of those pens embroiderers all use that erase with heat, but I'm lazy and haven't bought any yet. I like this piece; it's fun and I haven't used other geometric shapes on their own very much. This is a little bit of departure from my other more abstract pieces that have mostly focused on circles/dots or lines. Good times.
