Whenever I was working on a show back in high school, my mom would send candy to the theatre for us as a treat. One year around Easter, she sent some Peeps. This was back in the day when Peeps were only available at Easter and your choices were bunnies and chicks. One of my friends, who's Jewish, had never had a Peep before. Her comment upon eating her first Peep, "You Christians and your crazy candy." I think of my friend this time of year when all the Easter candy comes out. I'm no longer a practicing Catholic, but I do love Easter candy.
I've been trying to be better about snacks and food in general, but I can't help myself when it comes to three kinds of Easter candy: Starburst jelly beans, Cadbury cream eggs, and Reeses anything (usually the eggs). I went to Target today and came home with jelly beans and peanut butter eggs. I'm weak, bu I'm also 100% okay with this.
Today's piece is inspired by Starburst jelly beans. Yes, I eat them in a specific order (green, yellow, red, purple, orange, pink - least favorite to favorite). I also really wanted to do satin stitch today. It's becoming one of my favorite stitches.
