Experiments, Part 2

It wasn't my intention to stitch a peach Death Star.

As I've shared before, part of my goals with this project is to experiment more with technique and push myself to do more and different things. I like abstract embroidery, and try to do at least one per week. I didn't really have a plan for today's piece; I wanted to play with colors (ombre-ish) and lines. I didn't draw this work out; I made some lines to mark where I wanted to shift colors, but that was about it. I'm a fairly organized person, so going without a plan is always a challenge for me. 

And I ended up with a peach Death Star. I'm not mad about it; it's funny. I shared a picture with my brother, and he thought it looked like a Death Star blowing up. 


I took photos with two different light sources - I like both very much.
