Fire

I bought my first house (condo) at the end of 2019. Given the year that was 2020, that decision was one of the best I've ever made. I have space for the first time in years. Since I now work from home, it's nice to have a dedicated workspace for my job, and have a studio space for my art (the guest bedroom).

One of the features of my place is a gas fireplace. I didn't turn it on last winter since it never got cold enough. I've been planning to turn it on this winter, and finally did it today. The instructions were pretty straightforward, and I made it work! I don't need it on now, but am looking forward to turning it on later this evening. I hope Keely enjoys the fireplace as much as he enjoys sun patches.

Today's piece is inspired by my fireplace. Fire is hard to draw. I tried for almost an hour before I decided to see if I had a pattern I could use. I found one, actually part of a pattern of a spaceship, and used that for the flames. The rest of the drawing is me; slightly awkward but I'm not mad about it.

I love the tiny vase.

All three weeks!
