After reading about the re-opening of a Japanese theme park in July, I made a series of original embroidery pieces I called "Screams." They were based on the theme park telling visitors to "please scream inside your heart" when riding the rides. I turned three of the original pieces into a project in September called "The Be A Good Citizen Project," and have been sending Screams to people who have been being good citizens. This project was directly responsible for my starting An Embroidery a Day.
I've been angry since last Wednesday, and I haven't been able to get the anger out of my system in any constructive way. I tried focusing on soothing things over the weekend. I enjoyed my king cake Saturday and my coffee reflections on Sunday, but the anger was still there. And it should be; terrorists tried to overthrow the government and people think we should just move on. How do you move on? I don't have the answer, so I decided to make another Scream. Today's scream is brought to you by no longer wanting to scream inside my heart, way too much coffee this morning, and the realization that 70 millions Americans belong to a death cult.
